You could use a free desktop alternative like LibreOffice and not worry about the expense. You could switch to a free online offering like Google Docs, and not worry about versioning or cost. ![]() You could purchase Office 2019 or Office 2022 and have this problem again in about 7-10 years. ![]() You could purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription and never worry about having to ask this question again. Outside of that, there's nothing about how you're describing your use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that couldn't be covered by any available wordprocessing, spreadsheet, or presentation software. Additionally, the Microsoft 365 consumer offerings do offer the desktop clients that can be used offline. Based on your post, the only thing I can really respond with definitively is that Office 2007 went end of life in October 2017 and is no longer supported.
